SUE'S ABSTRACTS

POWWOW     40X30

What Fun to let loose and paint in the Abstract genre!

This painting incorporates five silver foil spots that you can see as the brights in the middle - My favorite thing about it is that those spots mimic either the grey or white depending which side you stand on.

I really enjoy working with the the grey (upper left)colors  and love putting them up against whites.

A friend came by and said I see headdresses and dancing. I did too.

This pair 30x30 and 24x30 were a commision for the Kmetko Family.

They are a sports loving 5-some so I designed this piece around spheres of 3D texture to represent their varied sports activities. Shani is a basketball coach, husband Steve is a baseball scout and the kids are all awesome soccer players. The large half circle on the square is a running track.

"White dove of the Desert"  36x36

"Father, Son and Holy Ghost"

   Oil on Canvas     24x36

This piece has really grown on me and right from the start took on a sort of spiritual overtone -thus the name. In this photo, it is difficult to see the textures of the color blocks or their intensities.

There are several crosses - all with the deep red heart at their center. I actually enjoy roaming around this painting -the repetition of the three blue spots, the chartruese forcing it's way in from the side, The yellow, green, brown series in the middle of the bottom.  I told some friends I felt like this one sort of painted itself and in fact all the abstracts seem to come from a viseral intuitive place that I am enjoying the access of.
